What to expect!

Half days are 4 hours on the water and full days are 8 hours on the water. I do not include food but do supply water and ice.

We will supply all tackle up front. Just let us know what type of rod and reel you prefer and what hand you reel with. My boat can accommodate me and three others comfortably for general fishing purposes. We will take bathroom breaks as needed.

We will teach, offer pointers or simply take you fishing your way. All at your request. We practice catch and release of largemouth bass and give you the option on Crappie, Sandies and Catfish.

We focus on catching fish for fun and for the frying pan.. If we don't meet the expectations that we have agreed to before the trip, your next trip is half price.

Fish cleaning available on weekend trips

We do require you have a Texas Fishing License before you arrive for the trip as it can be time consuming at the marinas. I also require that you supply any children 18 or under with a proper fitted life jacket prior to the trip.

My name is Howell Dodd. I am Licensed Texas Freshwater Fishing guide in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I guide primarily for white bass, crappie and panfish. My home lake is Lake Joe Pool located in the central portion of the Dallas/ Ft. Worth Metroplex. Although I have guided on other lakes in the past I have chosen to fish the lake that I fish the best, and that's Joe Pool.

White bass are my favorite fish to pursue on Joe Pool.. Limits are achievable depending on skill level. White bass are your path of least resistance for a fish fry and I can teach you methods of locating the species and enticing them to bite year round.

Crappie fishing is great right now and I offer a very educational on-the-water class on fishing for this scrumptious fish. Joe Pool is packed with brush piles, standing timber and is equipped with 2 great bridges that crappie love.

I have years of experience catching and instructing people how to catch fish. I have been fishing Joe Pool since 1996 and began my guide service in 2002. Joe Pool is a great fishing lake.

Rates!

-Lake Joe Pool- $160 for a 4 hour trip . Saturday and Sunday's. This trip is for fishing and fishing instruction for anyone that wants to catch white bass or crappie. Crappie trips are for those that have their own equipment and can at least tie on a new rig should you get hung up. I teach how to read a depth finder, best patterns to use and any other questions you might have, all while you fish. Limits of fish are very achievable on these trips. This trip is for two people other than myself but a 3rd can be added for $50.

Spring Special

-Lake Joe Pool- $100 for a 2 hour 30 minute quick-trip. Tuesday and Thursdays only, 5:30 to 8 PM. This is a fun trip, often times during this time of year the white bass hit topwater as the day ends. Limited to 2 people.
